Group Ukulele Class: Catchy Choruses with Ukulady Lisa

Lisa Mannion, aka Ukulady Lisa, is an Army combat veteran, singer-songwriter, Chicago musician, and  music teacher, passionate about veterans' mental health and the healing power of music.

A former vocalist and paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division’s All-American Chorus, Lisa performed worldwide from Afghanistan to France for the 75th D-Day Anniversary, as well as Walt Disney World, Daytona 500, and more.

She was named Illinois's Top 25 Women Veteran Leaders for creating Strumming for Wellness, a group ukulele program that fosters connection for veterans and her community. With her ukuleles in tow, Lisa brings music to organizations like Wounded Warrior Project, AllenForce, American Legions, Pilsen Arts & Community House, libraries, the Aurora Ukulele Festival and more!

Rooted in sweet home Chicago, she blends folk, rock, and blues in her original music. She is seen on WGN-TV and also won 1st place in the VA’s National Songwriter Competition. Inspired by her supportive musical family, Lisa believes that anybody can play the ukulele. She’s written many songs about it and she’s here to prove it, one strum at a time! Uke can do it!
